We have welcomed Cohort 13 to the Teach For Lebanon family, and from July 5 to August 6 they attended our Summer Institute (SI). This year’s SI ran on a hybrid model – two days each week in person at the Modern University for Business and Science in Hamra, Beirut; and three days of virtual attendance. It was a true intellectual bootcamp, featuring sessions on topics ranging from lesson planning and classroom management to child psychology, leadership, and more.
Participants and instructors alike deemed this year’s SI a resounding success. Cohort 13 Fellow Katarina Hakmeh reflected:
"The summer institute is an exceptional experience. I’ve both studied and worked in many different fields, but what I’m learning now is different: we’re making a real connection … The key lesson we’ve learned is that our mission requires a commitment of responsibility, generosity, and educational professionalism so that quality content is integrated into all our activities."
