This year’s Summer Institute (SI) has brought 52 Fellows together for a six-week training program where they gain the necessary skills to become exceptional teachers and leaders.

The SI is an annual, theoretical and field-based internship at Teach For Lebanon that provides Fellows with background knowledge of child development principles as well as principles of effective teaching practices and learning.

The SI ran from June 27 until August 5th, 2022, and followed a hybrid approach, with three days of in-person courses and two days of virtual sessions every week in the Beirut Digital District (BDD).

Fellows worked under the joint direction and supervision of TFL leaders and exemplary educators in the field of education. The Fellows learned to understand the qualities of being a successful TFL educator, develop interpersonal skills, plan and direct individualized instruction and group activities, prepare instructional materials, identify and create healthy social and ethical learning environments, and develop materials for educational purposes. 

The institute is the first step in a two-year journey and the most significant aspect of Teach For Lebanon’s training program.
