In partnership with the Lebanese Development Network (LDN), TFL Alumni Coordinator Rodaina Boushaheen was invited to participate in the "Youth Empowerment- Road to Success" project about youth empowerment and volunteering, in Uzana, Gabrovo, Bulgaria, for seven days.
During team-building exercises, she had the chance to connect with youth workers from other nations, including the Czech Republic, Greece, Spain, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Jordan, and North Macedonia. The invitees were introduced to the European Solidarity Corps—the new EU initiative that enables young people to show solidarity with communities in their respective countries as well as abroad—received training in project management techniques, and drafted a community project along with others from different nations, about how to deal with mental health in post-traumatic events.
In addition, they went on a cultural trip where they visited an open-air museum, a human museum, the oldest NGO in the world, "YMCA," and cultural nights where Rodaina gave a presentation on Lebanese culture and cuisine.
Lastly, she was interviewed by "Bumerang FM" radio to discuss her involvement in the project. She said: "It was a valuable experience where I got the chance to meet a lot of people from different cultures."
