On July 5th, 2023, Cohort 13 Fellow Ahmad Baghdadi participated in the Global Forum Schools 2030 held in Porto, Portugal.
Throughout the forum, Ahmad connected with educators from various backgrounds who were leading initiatives in climate education. Notable figures included Jessica Droguetti from Teach For Portugal, Natalia Herrera from Empieza Por Educar, Esther Gacigi from Teach For Kenya, and Egoitz Etxeandia Romero from Empieza Por Educar.
During one segment, Ahmad and Teach For All participants hosted a challenge session. They introduced their projects and posed challenges related to their work, fostering productive discussions and receiving positive feedback.
Additionally, he participated in "A RewirED Gathering for Dinner, Dialogue, and Action" and spoke about Planet B to a diverse audience, including representatives from UNESCO, Dubai Cares, and the Agha Khan Foundation. At the end of his speech, Ahmad presented and asked for a call for action from the participants, which was met with a positive response.
Lastly, Ahmad and the TFALL participants led a plenary session in which they had the chance to speak in front of all of the Schools 2030 participants about the importance of climate education and how organizations can help teachers succeed in their endeavors. Notably, the impact of this session reverberated beyond the event through its online broadcast, resonating with a broader audience committed to fostering positive change.
