Teach For Lebanon recruits fresh graduates from different educational backgrounds. We choose Fellows based on a multi-stage admissions process. The Fellowship selection includes the following stages:
We pride ourselves with our non-negotiable competencies which are integral to our success:
We invite the applicant to a series of activities/events throughout the selection process, where their participation reflects their level of commitment.
Undergraduate Degree
Students in the final year of their undergraduate or graduate degree are encouraged to apply. Young professionals are also encouraged to apply. Applicants must have completed all coursework required for the undergraduate degree from an accredited university by the spring of the recruitment year.
Academic Record
The undergraduate (and graduate school transcripts if enrolled in graduate school) will be reviewed carefully. Applicants who are enrolled at the time of their application must pass any coursework.
Lebanese national/foreign national status
Teach For Lebanon readily accepts applications from Lebanese applicants. Others will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Commitment and Location
Applicants must be willing to make a full-time commitment as of June of the year of their recruitment to participate in the six-week Summer Institute and to live in the housing provided near the school they will be teaching in starting September of that year as a Teach For Lebanon Fellow. Fellows will be full-time staff members of the schools in which they are placed and will work stipulated school hours, five days a week.
Language Fluency
Fellows must speak Arabic and be fluent in English to be part of the Teach For Lebanon Fellowship. All the sessions at the summer institute are in English, but since the placement may be in an English or French Lebanese school, fluency in French is a benefit.
Age Limit
Since the Teach For Lebanon Fellowship aims at building future leaders, applicants will have to be younger than 31 years old.
Please contact [email protected] with any questions about the application and selection process or if you are facing a technical problem with the application form.
