In continuation of its Access Teachers Training program funded by the Public Affairs Section at the U.S. Embassy in Beirut, the program provider Teach For Lebanon (TFL) held trainings on May 28-29, 2022 for a total of 94 teachers largely from Lebanese public schools, with the rest from semi-private schools.

And in line with TFL’s forward-looking standards and up-to-date knowledge of the trends in the universal education sector, the topics of those trainings carried on the topics of “Universal Design for Learning: The Science of How We Learn” by Dr. Lara El Khatib, and “Finding Optimism in Challenging Times” from the advanced logotherapy perspective, by Ms. Daliya Zgheib.

Lara Khatib, Ph.D., is extensively experienced in working with children who have a wide variety of physical and intellectual disabilities, and autism, and is also a part-time instructor at AUB, LAU, and Haigazian University.

Daliya Zgheib, MBA, and founder of Logotherapy MENA helps people and institutions to “Find Meaning and Purpose” even in adversity through Logotherapy; which is the Reference Meaning Centered Approach developed by world-renowned psychiatrist and neurologist, Dr. Viktor Frankl.

Participants were highly satisfied with both topics and here is what some thought about the “Universal Design for Learning: The Science of How We Learn” training:

“The workshop was amazingly interesting and appealing. We learned a lot and benefited very much. There was not a bit of boredom.”

“I enjoyed the session and gained new teaching techniques that I can add to my teaching experience and use in my classroom management.”

As for the workshop “Finding Optimism in Challenging Times”, a few participants shared that the chosen topic was very much needed and interesting under the current circumstances.
